It then sat around again until 1998 when David Levy bought it and Wayne carried out a full restoration. In 2000 and 2001 it won best Cabriolet at the Volksworld shows. David used it for fun and as a wedding vehicle. I saw an article about it in a car magazine years ago and was amazed at the results. Then a couple of months ago I saw a for sale ad in one of the English VW mags. There was no way we could afford it with the dollar/pound exchange rate. In Novemebr I saw it was still for sale and I thought I'd call up the owner and give him some history about the car and email him some pictures. Anyway I ended up making him an offer and the car will soon be on its way to Florida. David has been more than helpful with the arrangements as has my friend Barry in England. |

I went through Europe into North Africa in the early nineties in a 1972 burgundy VW campervan, I had the best time ever. It eventually just fell apart, all the sub frame needed re-welding.
